Tail Light Rehab

From the back of the car I have been noticing how dull and dark the taillights looked.  My assumption was there was dust/exhaust soot on the insole of the lenses.  I pulled them off and cleaned them and they were not very dirty at all. … Continue readingTail Light Rehab

Get Dipped!!!! Plasti-Dip

One thing has been bothering me for a long time.  My windshield wipers.  The arms are silver from the factory, and the wipers are black.  Which creates this 2 tone thing that I hated.     So I wanted to paint my wiper arms black … Continue readingGet Dipped!!!! Plasti-Dip

Cleans up well!!!

Just a few pics of the car after a wash and mini detail!  The hood sure is shiny!  Wheels are still looking good for being on there for the last 3 years or so.

Center Console: Paint is finished!

I have decided on the paint for the shift surround and the console face.  Its black lacquer.  Dupli-Color makes a pretty good spray can lacquer system.  Gloss black with a nice clear lacquer on top.  This has been quite a learning process!  My first thought … Continue readingCenter Console: Paint is finished!

Center Console: More Progress

Last update I began focusing on getting the shifter surround in better shape.  I filled the hole I drilled for a switch and applied a coat of bond to remove the texture from it.  Well its been about 5 coats of primer and lots … Continue readingCenter Console: More Progress

Center Console: shifter surround refinish

Now that the faceplate of the center console is ready for paint it’s time to refinish and prep the shifter surround. The original has a textured plastic finish to it. I want it to match the face plate so I’m going to give it the … Continue readingCenter Console: shifter surround refinish

After a few coats of primer and lots of sanding the surface is getting very smooth. Now to do some research on the paint to use for the faceplate. Lacquer? Enamel? Vinyl wrap? Looking for that super glossy look. Also want something nice and durable … Continue readingCenter Console: Looking for perfection

Every day I get closer and closer to completion.  Heres what I did today!   Screwed on my modified mounting brackets to the face plate.   The idea is that I can lower the face down onto the bolts that are screwed into sides of … Continue readingCenter Console…More Progress!
